The larvae/grubs under bark

Hi guys,
I took photos of the tracks left by what I think were beetle larvae, beneath the bark of a standing dead tree. The tree was a blackwood wattle and tracks were about as wide as my little finger.

Does anyone know whether those grubs were ever eaten by people?

If blackwood is the same as blackwattle, then it probably died of borer infestation; apparently borers have a thing about blackwattle. Well, they do in Tarago.

I guess practically any bug is edible if you're desperate enough. Personally I prefer to give 'em all to the chooks :)

eating bugs. yummy. lol , i wouldnt eat it if it had hair or weird colours? i dunno.
