Eye Candy

Postby MadHatter » Tue Nov 04, 2008 5:13 pm

I recently bought a new DSLR camera and a nice set of lenses to go with it. For you camera geeks out there, its an olympus E520 with 35mm macro, 14-42 mm wide angle and 70-300mm zoom.
I'm getting pretty good with the Macro lens, and thought I'd share a couple of my best shots. Both of these are flowering on my balcony at the moment:

Diplarrena moraea - White Flag Iris

Thysanotus tuberosus - Common Fringe Lilly

I know there are a couple of other shutter bugs out there, so please, share your photos with us all!

Woo! Thanks for posting all of those ;) Very calming.

MadHatter, those are great macros. I'm jealous of the second one - haven't seen any of those flowers nearby yet.

I suppose if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. :D
I've been on an expedition to Ferntree Gully National Park today. Here are a few favorites:

Wahlenbergia stricta - Tall Bluebell

Stellaria Flaccida - Forest Starwort

Glycine clandestina - Twining Glycine

By the way, Bluetoungue, I saw quite a few Fringe Lillies there too.
Telegraph Track seems to be the wildflower hotspot at the moment.
