Postby Badbunny66 » Sun Mar 14, 2010 12:53 pm

HI is there any native plant that is easily obtainable, which has similar properties to ephedra or ginseng that can be used for an energy kick that doesn't have yucky side effects, and if so where can i obtain it. cheers! 8) [/b]

The betel nut palm, Areca catechu, is not native to Australia.

Altered states are altered states.

If you want a natural energy boost, try doing it within your natural state.

Sida cordifolia & S rhombifolia have most of the same alkaloids as are in ephedra. Heaps of Sida sp up north..

Forum member Darcy might... he has been interested in Sida for a long while. Why I remember he found some interesting ones growing outside a pub in Dubbo, if memory is not clouded too much.

I know he sells Sida seeds for sure - http://www.herbalistics.com.au/shop/pro ... cts_id=193

Also i think many have tried it, for example:

Herbalistics will go on my list. I've been wandering around shaman-australis for a few years now - i was just looking for a new angle on the subject but being a lout i can be a bit vague at times :P
