does anyone know anything about coastal foods (seaweeds,shellfish,moluscs,etc)particularly on the sub tropical eastern seaboard

while this quite an old thread - marine 'bush-food' is one of my principal interests - I've been working on learning and harvesting our own for the last few months (I did so back in South Africa - grew up into it.) There is a lot of food out there - much of it very tasty and not much used. A lot of this comes under world-wide seafoods, but where to harvest and exactly what species they are does vary a lot - I'm still learning Australian varieties/species. There are also a lot of 'too small to bother with, commercially, that are really good eating. As soon as I figure how to put up pictures I will start doing so
