Mingulba and witchety grubs on getaway

Postby darcy » Fri Dec 02, 2005 5:13 pm

Lat night that had a dude staying out in the centre on Aboriginal lands, money going to the community and stuff. anyway, theres a chef and he was cooking up witchety grubs with some Aboriginal ladies standing next to him, and one of the things he threw in there was what he called 'Mingulba', as a type of green. It looked blanched, but one of the ladies picked out a piece and ate it, obviously couldn't help herself  So I guess this means they use Nicotiana gossei as a green? I don't think many other mingulbas would be something else?? cooked out in water it would be edible, nicotine leaching out and other goodies.
