Yum. I don't have the energy to deal with bunyas for this year although if I stumbled across a source, I'd probably pick up the cones ...

Dry Roasting

The "Bunya Nuts" book I bought from Kay Joyce has a Safety Warning:to avoid the nuts exploding when cooked in shells using a dry heat such as camp fire, cut across the tip of the nut to allow the steam to escape.

Not sure if Flora's had any problems like this dry roasting in a pan.
