eventually i got the sql statement right but not before having to restore the database (with users, posts, etc) back to the way it was at 8pm last night (Sept 30)
I am really sorry if anyone posted after 8pm... please email me (adrian) at bushfoodforum@gmail.com, let me know your user name and the time you posted, and i can restore the posts individually. long story... but no posts are actually lost.
otherwise what you will see is that the forum is the way it was at 8pm (Aust Eastern time) yesterday.
So again, email me (bushfoodforum@gmail.com) if you posted after 8pm eastern yesterday, tell me your user name, perhaps the approx time you posted (not really necessary), and i can restore your post indiovidually.

p.s. also email me if you think you are experiencing weird user/login issues... since it was the users table that i modified...
